Helping Waterford and Irish businesses grow through AI & smart technology
Waterford AI is an Irish technology company built around one idea: the automation and AI tools that large corporations use to save time and cut costs should be within reach of ordinary Irish businesses too — not locked behind enterprise price tags and six-month implementation projects.
We work with small and medium businesses across Waterford and the rest of Ireland on AI automation, AI agents, AI chatbots, custom software, web development, and data analytics and dashboards — built around how your business actually works, not a one-size-fits-all template.
Why Waterford AI was created
Most Irish SMEs aren't held back by a lack of ambition. They're held back by the daily grind of manual admin, repetitive data entry, quotes and invoices chased by hand, customer queries answered one at a time, and software systems that don't talk to each other.
That gap — between what modern AI and automation tools can actually do, and how few Irish businesses have adopted them — is why Waterford AI exists. Not to sell businesses on "AI" as a buzzword, but to sit down, understand a specific, practical problem, and build something that solves it.
The vision behind the company is straightforward:
- Make AI practical, not theoretical.
- Make automation affordable for businesses without an enterprise IT budget.
- Help Irish businesses compete with larger, better-resourced competitors.
- Give business owners back time — the thing most of them are shortest on.
- Improve productivity without adding headcount or complexity.
- Reduce costs by cutting out repetitive manual work and inefficient tooling.
Meet the founder
Mr Livingston
Founder & CEO, Waterford AI
Mr Livingston spent 20 years working in IT before founding Waterford AI — including years spent in and around Waterford, helping other companies grow through better use of technology. That work, done on behalf of employers and clients rather than his own business, gave him a close-up view of exactly where Irish SMEs lose time and money: manual processes that were never automated, software bought off the shelf that never quite fit, and websites that looked fine but didn't generate business.
After years of helping other businesses grow, the decision to found Waterford AI came down to one thing: it was time to help businesses directly, under his own name, rather than through someone else's company. His expertise spans AI automation, custom software development, web development, Python, data analytics, and business process optimisation — helping SMEs across Ireland compete with larger organisations through smart use of technology.
Our mission
Waterford AI's mission is to help Irish businesses save time, reduce repetitive work, improve customer service, increase efficiency, and grow using AI as a practical tool — not a headline feature nobody uses.
Every business we work with is different, but the outcome we're aiming for is the same: hand back hours in the week that used to disappear into admin, and put that time back into growing the business.
Our vision
The long-term vision for Waterford AI is to be the trusted technology partner Irish SMEs turn to first — not the biggest agency, not the cheapest, but the one that understands the specific pressures of running a business in Ireland and builds accordingly.
As AI tools continue to mature, Waterford AI's role is to filter the genuinely useful from the hype, and bring the useful parts to businesses that don't have time to keep up with the AI news cycle themselves.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose Waterford AI over a large agency?
You work directly with the person building your solution, not an account manager relaying messages. Pricing is transparent and fixed, and solutions are built around your actual workflow rather than a template.
Do you work across all of Ireland, or just Waterford?
Waterford AI is based in Waterford and serves businesses across all 26 counties, including Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Limerick.
Do you offer AI consulting if we're not sure where to start?
Yes — an AI strategy and consulting session identifies where AI or automation would have the biggest impact on your specific business before any development begins.
Can you integrate with Microsoft 365?
Yes, Microsoft 365 automation and integration is one of the more common projects — connecting email, calendars, and documents into a more automated workflow.
Can AI actually automate parts of our business, or is that overstated?
For repetitive, rules-based work — data entry, follow-up emails, appointment booking, first-line customer queries — yes, genuinely. For work that needs human judgement, AI supports the process rather than replacing the person.
Do you build custom software, or only websites?
Both. Custom software development and web development are both core services, often combined on the same project.
Do you develop websites as well as AI tools?
Yes — modern, responsive websites built for performance and SEO, often paired with an AI chatbot or automation layer.
Can you replace our spreadsheets with something better?
In many cases, yes — spreadsheet-based processes are often the easiest and highest-impact place to start with automation and proper dashboards.
How long do projects typically take?
Most websites are live within 2–4 weeks; custom software and automation projects typically run 6–12 weeks depending on scope. Timelines are agreed up front, not left open-ended.
What industries do you support?
Construction, healthcare, accountants, solicitors, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, schools, engineering, professional services, local government, and SMEs generally.
Do you offer ongoing support after launch?
Yes — every project includes a warranty period, with ongoing support and maintenance available afterward.
What does an AI chatbot actually do for a small business?
Answers common customer questions instantly, captures leads outside business hours, and books appointments — without replacing your team for anything that needs a real conversation.
What's the difference between an AI agent and a chatbot?
A chatbot answers questions. An AI agent can take multi-step actions — checking a system, updating a record, sending a follow-up — with much less manual input.
Is our data safe if we use AI tools in our business?
Yes — systems are built with proper access controls and GDPR obligations in mind from the start, not added as an afterthought.
Do you offer fixed pricing, or is it hourly billing?
Fixed-price projects are the default — agreed before work begins, so there are no surprise invoices.
Can small businesses actually afford this, or is AI only for larger companies?
Waterford AI was built specifically because AI and automation shouldn't be priced out of reach for SMEs — solutions are scoped to fit realistic budgets.
Do you work with accountants and solicitors specifically?
Yes — including document automation, client intake, and reporting workflows suited to regulated professions.
What happens in a free consultation?
A no-obligation conversation about your business, where time and money are currently being lost, and whether AI, automation, or custom software is the right next step — with no pressure to proceed.
How do we get started?
Book a free consultation or get in touch directly — most first conversations take about 30 minutes.
